Erin Blackie is a Melbourne based singer, songwriter, producer, actor and vocal coach. As an entertainer, Erin’s passion and cultivation of these skills are in live performance.
From the moment she steps onto the stage, you will not be able to take your eyes off this fallen angel as Erin commands her inner darkness. Erin has a sweet vulnerability that draws you in, but will quickly confront you with the unexpected vocal power of this petite soprano. You are taken on an intensely emotive journey with every song through her theatrical style performances, complete with appropriate costumes and props, many of which Erin also designs and makes as well.
Erin’s band Death of Art very much envelops of all of her skills with a matched level in her solo performances focused more in the areas of classical and musical theatre. Having also had a very long background in dance, including as a teacher and choreographer, plus acting in film and live productions, while Erin’s unique voice is the centrepiece, her performances are far more.
Erin has always known she would be an entertainer, having been on stage since the age of three. Although having started out in dance and acting, in school Erin discovered she definitely had a talent as a singer worth pursuing. As this has grown and become her forefront, Erin has also very much enjoyed sharing her skills, knowledge and experience as a vocal coach, having coached at The Jaanz International School of Singing since 2005 until it's closure in 2024, and now through her own school, 'Erin Blackie Singing Academy'.
